Car Battery Dead in Merzouga: What to Do

Heat is harder on batteries than cold. Many travelers discover a weak battery the morning after a night at a desert camp.

Is it the battery?

  • Clicking sound or nothing when turning the key: likely battery.
  • Dashboard lights dim or flicker: likely battery.
  • Engine cranks normally but won't fire: probably not the battery — could be fuel or ignition.

Jump-starting

Connect red to the positive terminals, black from the donor's negative to bare metal on your engine. Start the donor car, wait a few minutes, then try yours. If you're unsure, call us — wrong connections can damage electronics.

If it dies again

A battery that dies twice usually needs replacement, or the alternator isn't charging. We test both and can replace the battery on the spot.
